S. Reginald Watts, a retired assistant regional superintendent of schools in Baltimore, died Friday after being injured in an automobile accident at Liberty Heights Avenue and Edgewood Road.
A mass of Christian burial was being offered today at St. James Episcopal Church, Lafayette and Arlington avenues.
Mr. Watts was 78 and lived on Cedardale Road.
He retired in 1974 after starting in the city school system as an elementary school teacher 43 years earlier.
Born in Baltimore, he was a 1929 graduate of Douglass High School and a 1931 graduate of what is now Coppin State College. He earned a bachelor's degree at Morgan State University in 1941 and later earned a master's degree at New York University.
He is survived by his wife, the former Clarice E. Tarter; a son, Ronald C. Watts of West Chester, Pa.; and two grandsons.
