2 pizza delivery men robbed in Arundel

June 24, 1991|By Michael James

Anne Arundel County police were investigating two separate robberies last night of Domino's Pizza delivery men -- one of whom was beaten and required a trip to the hospital.

Police said they do not believe the robberies were related.

The first incident occurred about 9:45 p.m. in the 8300 block of Flintlock Court in Severn, when a Domino's employee -- whose name was not divulged -- was approached by two men while making a delivery, police said.

One of the men displayed a handgun and ordered the delivery man toturn over his money. The two men then escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The delivery man, who was not hurt, provided the police with a general description of the gunman and his accomplice.

About 11 p.m., another Domino's driver was bringing a pizza to a residence near the 700 block of Crucible Court in Millersville when he was punched at least once in the face by an unknown assailant, police said.

The man took an undisclosed amount of money from the driver and ran off.

Police said the driver suffered cuts to his face and a possible broken nose.

No weapon was displayed in the incident, police said.

Friends of the second delivery man, who also was not identified last night, drove him to North Arundel Hospital.

Officers were questioning the victim early today, trying to get a description of the robber.
