Dr. R. H. Shepard Hopkins physician

A memorial service for Dr. Richard H. Shepard, a noted Johns Hopkins physician and researcher, will be held at 4 p.m. today in the Wood Basic Science Auditorium of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Dr. Shepard was distinguished in the study of lungs and in biomedical computing. He is credited with introducing computers into the School of Medicine's curriculum in 1961.

Dr. Shepard died in his home in Boulder, Colo., on Jan. 30. He was 69.
