ASSAULT: Western District -- Shentel Williams reported that she was attacked at her home in the 1300 block of N. Stricker St. by a man she knows, who struck her with a baseball bat. Police said Williams sustained minor injuries and that a warrant was to be issued for the man's arrest.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Police reported that someone opened a rear door to a building in the 2600 block of Pennsylvania Ave. containing city school offices and stole a TV valued at $50.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Officials of the Calvary Temple Church in the 1000 block of W. Baltimore St. reported that someone broke into their building and stole property valued at more than $700. Police said the intruder escaped with a compact disc player, radio, record player, cassette deck and telephone.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Police reported that someone broke into Roots & Culture, an African culture center in the 1300 block of W. North Ave., through a window and stole printing equipment valued at more than $300.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police said a man with a handgun robbed an employee of the Crazy Greek Restaurant in the 1300 block of W. North Ave. of his 1989 Chevrolet Corsica early yesterday morning.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Employees of the Precision Three Beauty Salon in the 1000 block of W. Baltimore St. reported that someone stole the rear door to their shop. Police said the 36-inch-by-81-inch wooden door, with a dead bolt lock, was valued at nearly $300.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Kevin Cave, of the 3200 block of St. Luke's Lane, reported he was in the 2700 block of Winchester St. early yesterday morning when a 21-year-old man he knows robbed him of his 1988 Chevrolet Nova bearing Maryland license plates NJK-056.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Tonya Mosley, of the 1700 block of Lorman St., reported she was in the 1600 block of Mount St. yesterday when she was stopped by a man with a knife who robbed her of nearly $200 and $100 in food stamps.

ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police arrested one man and were seeking another in the attempted robbery yesterday evening of a woman in the 800 block of E. 25th St. Police said Evelyn Smoot, of the 100 block of W. 27th St., was walking by herself around 6 p.m. when she was attacked by two men she knows, who struck her in the face and attempted to steal her purse. Police said she resisted and the men ran away. Later, police arrested a suspect and were holding him at the Eastern District lockup pending formal charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Roslyn DeShields, 26, of the 2200 block of Pentland Drive, told police she and her son were walking near their home early yesterday when a man came up behind them and stole her purse that the child was carrying. DeShields told police the purse contained $40 and that the total value of the property, including the money, was $100.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Nelson Lee Ciario, of the 4100 block of Mary Ave., reported that someone broke into his car while it was parked near his home Tuesday night or yesterday morning and stole a radar detector and a wallet, valued at nearly $130.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Sara Stevens, 45, of the 1000 block of Argonne Drive, reported that someone entered her car after breaking a window and stole an $80 portable radio that had been left on the front seat.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Employees of the One Stop Shop food store in the 4900 block of Frankford Ave. reported that someone broke into the building and stole nine bushels of live crabs, valued at $600.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that someone opened a lock to break into a dwelling in the 4700 block of Bayonne Ave. yesterday and stole a TV and a VCR, valued at $700.

ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Police said a 12-year-old resident of the 900 block of Quantril Way was near his home late yesterday evening when a man in his late teens or early 20s struck the youth in the face with a piece of wood. Police said the 12-year-old suffered a broken nose but refused treatment by the crew of an ambulance.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Gregory Hamilton, of the 4400 block of Pall Mall Road, told police he was walking near his home around 1 a.m. yesterday when he was stopped by a man with a handgun who robbed him of his briefcase, a camcorder and other property, all valued at more than $1,000.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Police reported that a 17-year-old resident of the 400 block of Ilchester Ave. was in the 400 block of Whitridge Ave. shortly before 8 p.m. yesterday when he was stopped by two men, one with a handgun, who robbed him of a beeper he was carrying, a portable radio with headphones and a gold necklace, all valued at nearly $360.

THEFT: Northern District -- Christopher Medairy, 35, of the 300 block of Rossiter Ave., reported that while his car was parked near his home someone broke into it and stole property valued at more than $1,000.
