One Third won the $22,000 Fairy Chant Purse yesterday, enabling trainer King Leatherbury to tie Dale Capuano in the Pimlico Race Course trainers' standings.
One Third, ridden by 1990 apprentice champion Mark Johnston, completed 1 1/16-mile over a sloppy track in 1 minute, 45 3/5 seconds to finish 11 lengths ahead of Gaylord's Annie.
The race was originally scheduled for the turf course, but was switched to the main track due to overnight rain.
One Third, Leatherbury's 31st victory at Pimlico this spring, paid $4.80, $2.80 and $2.20.
Gaylord's Annie paid $2.80 and $2.40. Thirtyeightcaliber paid $3.20. The 1-8 exacta was worth $9.
Despite 341 live double tickets going into the fifth race, there were no winners in the exotic wager for the sixth day. The carry-over will be $62,916.70 today.
