Here's what to look for if you're traveling in the Baltimore metropolitan area this week. This list of highway projects includes only newly announced work, not continuing construction, which is extensive on several highways, including Interstate 95, U.S. 50/301 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.

New Highway projects

Route 3 north

Two lanes of Route 3 northbound will be closed from 10 p.m. tomorrow to 6 a.m. Tuesday for removal of the Stewart Avenue bridge. One lane will be open to traffic. One lane of the ramp from Route 176 to southbound Route 3 will be closed from 9 p.m Friday to 6 a.m. June 24 to remove the bridge pier.

Light-rail construction

E9 No new light-rail projects are planned for this week.

Bus route changes:

The MTA has scheduled these changes in bus routes. For more information, call 539-5000; TTY for the hearing-impaired, 539-3497.

Summer schedules

Summer bus schedules go into effect next Sunday. Service will be added to five bus lines, one bus route will be changed and new schedules will be issued for many lines. All Sunday bus service will continue to be accessible to wheelchair passengers.

New service

No. 2 -- Selected Catonsville/Paradise trips will travel via Yale Heights on the weekends. Some late evening weekday service via Yale Heights will be provided.

No. 3 -- Selected Sunday Cromwell Bridge Road service will travel via Hillendale.

No. 14 -- Buses scheduled between State Center and Jumpers Hole will travel via Hospital Drive and Oakwood Road.

No. 26 -- All Express service will travel via Seminary Avenue to and from downtown Baltimore. No direct bus service will run between the Providence Road Park 'n' Ride lot and downtown Baltimore. Two evening trips serving the Timonium, Lutherville and Providence Road Park 'n' Ride lots will be eliminated.

No. 64 -- The Brooklyn Homes bus loop no longer will be the terminus for the line on weekends. The new terminus will be in Curtis Bay. The line will continue to serve Brooklyn Homes along Tenth Street between Virginia and Patapsco avenues on weekends. Selected weekend trips will continue to operate to the Brooklyn Homes loop, although some trips that now operate to the loop will be extended to Curtis Bay. There will also be a readjustment in the schedule of bus service to Wagners Point/Fairfield.

Route change

No. 44 -- The layover point of the Brighton service will be changed to the Reisterstown Plaza Metro station. From the Metro station, morning buses will travel west to Brighton before continuing on their regular route. Evening trips will proceed westbound through Brighton and then layover at the Reisterstown Plaza Metro station before beginning the regular eastbound route.

New schedules

Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5 (both), 7 (both), 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 18, 20, 21, 23, 24, 26, 27, 30, 31, 35, 36, 43, 44, 51, 55, 61, 62, 64, 66, 70, 77, 86, 91, 120, 140, 150, 160, 210, M1, M2, M3, M5, M6, M9, M10, M12, M16 (Social Security and the Baltimore Metro).

Temporary reroutings

Until 5 a.m. tomorrow and for the next two weekends, these routes will change because of Central Light Rail Line construction at Lombard and Howard streets.

No. 7 -- Westbound via regular route on Lombard to Charles Street, north on Charles, west on Fayette Street, north on Paca Street, then via regular route.

Nos. 10, 19, 27 -- Westbound via regular route on Lombard to Charles, north on Charles, west on Fayette, north on Eutaw Street, then via regular route.

Nos. 11 (southbound), 31 (westbound) -- Southbound on Liberty to Fayette, west on Fayette, south on Eutaw, west on Lombard, then via regular route.

Nos. 15, 23 -- Westbound via regular route west on Saratoga to Park Avenue, north on Park, west on Franklin Street, south on Greene Street, west on Saratoga, then via regular route. There is no change in eastbound service, however, the bus stop on Saratoga at Howard Street will be temporarily discontinued.

Nos. 9, 18 -- These lines will not operate on Deereco Road between the Timonium Park 'n' Ride and Padonia Road. The lines will operate to and from the park and ride via Green Spring Drive and Timonium and York roads.

No. 33 (Sinclair & Moravia Branch) -- Moravia Road is closed to all westbound traffic between Harford Road and Walther Avenue because of construction. Westbound via regular route to Moravia and Walther, south on Walther, west on Parkside Drive, west on Argonne Drive, then via regular route.

No. 9 (Springlake Service) -- Providence Road between Hart and Stags Head roads is closed for construction. Northbound via regular route to Providence and Stags Head, west on Stags Head, north on Margarette Road, west on Seminary Avenue, then via regular route.
