THEFT/ARREST: Central District -- Police arrested a man yesterday in the 1300 block of Eutaw Place and charged him with stealing several potted plants from the back yards of several homes in the Bolton Hill area. Police said officers Patrick Rowe and Kenneth Driscoll were in the 1300 block of Eutaw Place around 1 a.m. yesterday when they received information that a man attempted to steal potted plants from a back yard on the block. The man dropped the plants when the occupant called for him to stop. After a brief chase, the officers caught the man, who was pushing a shopping cart containing potted plants and other items that were later reported stolen. Police said that in addition to being charged with the attempted theft of the plants, Daniel Burrell, 28, of the 1700 block of N. Ellamont St., also was charged with stealing property from the back yards of houses in the 200 block of W. Lanvale St. Burrell appeared before a District Court commissioner and was ordered held in lieu of $2,000 bail. Police said Burrell was expected to be charged with at least three more thefts in the Bolton Hill area.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Police said a couple walking in the 600 block of W. Lexington St. Wednesday evening were assaulted by three men who robbed the man of $50. Police said Von Brown, of the 2300 block of Jefferson St., and Lisa Williams, of the 1100 block of N. Carey St., were walking together when they were stopped by three men, two of whom they knew by their first names. Police said the three men struck the couple while demanding money and robbed Brown. Police said Williams also was assaulted but was not robbed. Police said they were looking for a man known as "Kevin" and another known as "Reds." The third man's name was not known by the victims.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Joseph Rupp, of the 2500 block of Eutaw Place, reported he was in the 1700 block of Morton Alley late Wednesday night when he was accosted by a man who struck him on the back of the head and robbed him of property and cash, all valued at more than $300.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Police reported two men, one with a rifle, entered the Oak Street Amoco station in the 2000 block of N. Howard St. early yesterday and forced an employee to give up money from the cash register. Police said the gunman and his accomplice escaped with nearly $90.

BURGLARY: Central District -- A resident of the 1000 block of Argyle Ave. reported that someone broke into her apartment between Wednesday and yesterday and stole a TV, stereo turntable, and a cable TV remote-control device. Police said the property was valued at nearly $500 and that entry was gained by forcing the front door.

ROBBERY/CUTTING: Central District -- Eric Brinkley, of the first block W. 27th St., told police he was walking in the 2500 block of N. Charles St. yesterday when he was accosted by a man with a knife who cut him on the arm and robbed him of several keys. Police said Brinkley was not seriously injured and that the robber, who had a tattoo below his left eye, escaped.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Timothy Bradford, of the 1300 block of Horners Lane in Armistead Gardens, reported that a man he knows entered his house and stole a 14-karat gold ring. Bradford told police the ring was valued at more than $1,000.

ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Paulette Robinson, of the 5500 block of Whitby Road, reported that during an argument with a man in her home, the man pointed a handgun at her. Later, the man was arrested and was being held at the Eastern District pending assault charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Gervine Chambers, 30, of the 1300 block of W. North Ave., told police he was riding his bike in the 700 block of E. 25th St. early yesterday when he was attacked by three men who robbed him of the bike. Police said the bike was valued at $200 and that during the robbery, one of the men struck Chambers with a wooden crutch.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Vernette Christian, of the 1700 block of E. 31st St., reported she was in the 1700 block of Abbotston St. Wednesday night when she was assaulted by a woman who robbed her of nearly $300.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Kristine Jacobs, of the 3600 block of Rexmere Road, reported that someone broke into her 1989 Toyota that was parked near her home and stole property valued at more than $400.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1700 block of Carswell St. reported that someone entered the back yard of his home and stole a wooden lawn table. The occupant, Kevin Mason, told police the table was valued at nearly $90.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Juanita Ushry, of the 7000 block of McClean Blvd., reported she was walking near her home around 2 a.m. yesterday when she was stopped by a man who demanded her money while implying that he had a handgun. Ushry told police she gave up her purse containing cash and property, all valued at nearly $70.
