DRUG ARRESTS: Eastern District -- Police last night raided a rowhouse in the 900 block of N. Duncan St. and arrested two people and seized cocaine and heroin. Police said the house was a few doors from where district narcotic officer Gerald Hensley was shot in April during a drug raid. Arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of heroin with intent to distribute, related drug charges and illegal possession of a firearm were Charlene Williams, 33, a resident of the raided house, and Ronnie Arrington, 35, of the 2000 block of E. North Ave. Police said Williams was held overnight at the women's detention center at the Central District pending a bail hearing today in District Court. Arrington, police said, was being held at the district's lockup pending a bail hearing. Seized in the 9:30 p.m. raid was 1/8 ounce of raw cocaine having a street value of $600, nearly 40 $10 bags of cocaine, two $10 bags of heroin and a .22-caliber handgun. Police said the raid was the result of complaints from residents that drugs were being sold out of the house.

ROBBERY TRY: Western District -- Police reported that during an incident in the 1800 block of Vine St. shortly after 10 a.m. yesterday, a 30-year-old resident of the 1800 block attempted to remove Officer Terry Hendrickson's service revolver from its holster. Police said Hendrickson arrested the woman and charged her with attempted robbery. Police said the woman, Denise A. Carroll, was held overnight at the women's detention center at the Central District pending a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

BURGLARY: Central District -- A resident of the 200 block of W. Lanvale St. reported that someone broke into her apartment through a rear window and stole property valued at more than $1,200.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Samuel Simms, an out-of-town resident, reported he was walking in the 400 block of E. Fayette St. early yesterday when he was accosted by two men, one armed with a knife, who demanded his money. Police said the men escaped with property and cash, all valued at $80.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Police reported that someone broke into an apartment in the 100 block of W. Saratoga St. Tuesday afternoon and stole property valued at more than $300. Police said entry was gained by climbing a fire escape and entering through a window.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Police reported that property valued at more than $400 was stolen from a dwelling in the 1700 block of Park Ave. after someone entered through a first-floor window.

ASSAULT: Central District -- Karen Johnson, of the 500 block of E. 21st St., told police that during an incident in the 100 block of W. North Ave., she was attacked by a man who struck her in the face with his fist. Police said Johnson was taken to Mercy Medical Center, where she was treated for facial injuries. Later, police arrested a man in connection with the assault and were holding him pending formal charges of aggravated assault and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Police reported that someone broke into Manny's shoe repair in the 1800 block of Pennsylvania Ave. and stole a radio. Police said entry was gained through a rear door.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Robert Palone, a resident of the Rochambeau Apartments in the first block of W. Franklin St., reported he was walking in the 200 block of Park Ave. yesterday afternoon when he was grabbed from behind by a man who robbed him of his property. Police said the value of the items taken was not known.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police reported Bernard Harris, of the 900 block of North Hill Road, was in the 1300 block of W. North Ave. around 5 a.m. yesterday when he was robbed of his gold jewelry valued at nearly $200. Police said the men also robbed Harris of his 1981 Chevrolet.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1500 block of McKean Ave. reported that someone entered his house through a bedroom window and stole appliances valued at nearly $2,000.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Police reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 2200 block of Lynbrook Ave. between Monday night and Tuesday morning and stole property valued at nearly $1,300. Police said entry was gained through a basement door.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that someone broke into the city's Head Start Center in the 2500 block of Harford Road and stole electronic equipment valued at more than $1,000.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Benjamin Scott, 35, of the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Ave., reported he was in the 2800 block of Harford Road early yesterday evening when he was accosted by two men and two women who robbed him of nearly $50 in cash. Scott told police that one of the men was armed with a knife.
