An Edgewater man bit off a piece of another man's ear during a fightearly yesterday, county police said.
Police said Todd Brian Hibbard, 34, of the 3000 block Centre Street in Riva, intervened during a fight between Raymond Charles Godbout, 25, of the 1600 block Havre DeGrace Road, and an unknown man about 2 a.m. outside a home on Riva Road
Godbout and Hibbard began fighting, and Godbout bit off a piece of Hibbard's ear, police said. Godbout was charged with assault with intent to maim. Police said the two had been drinking.
Hibbard was treated at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
MAN ABDUCTS WOMAN AND STEALS HER PURSE
County police were still looking yesterday for the man who forced a woman into a car and stole her purse.
Police said the 21-year-old woman was getting into her car in the 1600 block of Annapolis Road near Fort Meade about 2 a.m. yesterday.
He stuck a sharpobject in her shoulder and told her to get back in her car. The assailant told her if she did not get into the car, he would "blow her away."
The woman went into the car and drove east on Annapolis Road.A military police officer stopped them.
The assailant told the officer that everything was fine and that they were lost, police said. The woman jumped out of the car and told the officer the man had stolen her purse.
The assailant then ran off into the woods toward Mapes Road. No description of the man was given.
MAN BUYS GUM, ROBS MILLERSVILLE 7-ELEVEN
A Millersville convenience store was robbed early yesterday, county police said.
Police said the man walked into the 7-Eleven store in the 400 block of Old Mill Road about 3:30 a.m. and bought two pieces of bubble gum.
When the clerk opened the cashdrawer, the robber took all the money.
Police described the robber as a white man about 23 years old, 6 feet tall with light blond hair.
He was wearing green shorts, a purple shirt and a tan hat.
