Karate fans won't want to miss the 1991 World Karate !B Championships at the Convention Center Aug. 16-17. Teams and competitors from more than 15 countries will participate.

There'll be a World Team Elimination match, World Tournament Karate Championships and Grand Championship match.

Also planned are a trade exhibition Friday and Saturday, offering supplies and services for the martial arts and other athletic activities. Admission is $4 and $7 for each competition and $12, $20 and $30 for the main events. Call 749-7545.

Bill Wills, the local actor who, with his wife, Sue, and their three children, presents Parker Playhouse, will perform two one-man shows this summer. "My Country, Right or Wrong," the story of Stephen Decatur, will be enacted at the Carousel Hotel, 118th Street and Coastal Highway, from July 8 to Aug. 26. "The Strenuous Life," the story of Theodore Roosevelt, will be presented July 5 to Aug. 30. Call 289-3122.

Parker Playhouse will also offer "Jack and the Beanstalk" July 2 to Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays; "Rumpelstiltskin," Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, July 9 to Aug. 29, at 1 p.m.; and "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," Tuesdays, Wednedays, Thursdays and Saturdays 9 p.m., July 30 to Aug. 31. On July 22-26, shows will be at the Convention Center. Call 289-3122.

Country singer Willie Nelson, known for such hit songs as "On the Road Again" and "You Were Always on My Mind," will be at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center at 8 p.m. June 20. Tickets are $19.50 and $16.50 and are available at the box office and at ticket outlets. Call 548-4911.

For reggae fans, Reggae Sunsplash World Tour will be at the Convention Center July 8. The six acts are Maxie Priest, Dennis Brown, Shinehead, Little Lenny, Carlene Davis and Andrew Tosh. Call 289-8314.

Other shows on the Convention Center lineup this summer include Nelson, twin sons of the late rock and roll artist Ricky Nelson, 8 p.m. June 12, $14.50; Ray Charles, July 3, $17.50; Burt Bacharach and Dionne Warwick, July 17, $25; comedian Jay Leno, July 31, $17.50; country singer Garth Brooks, Aug. 7, $18.50 and $21.50, and Kenny Rogers, Aug. 14, $23.50. Shows are at 8 p.m., except for Mr. Rogers' two shows which will be at 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
