President Bush to visit Seaford

President Bush is expected to visit Seaford, Del., Tuesday. The president will attend commencement exercises at the Hames H. Grove Adult Education program of the Sussex Vocational-Technical School District in Seaford.

The principal of the school, Wayne Maloney, said he believes the visit will help promote adult education programs in Delaware and throughout America.

Sea Witch Festival planned in Rehoboth

The second annual Sea Witch Weekend Festival will be held Oct. 25-27 in the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach areas. Scheduled events include an antique train display, pumpkin-rolling contest, sea shell hunt and bubble gum blowing contest. Hours are noon to 10 p.m. Oct. 25, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 26 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 27. Call (302) 227-2233.

Youth Health Center offers care, counseling

The newly opened Ocean City Youth Health Center at 4 Caroline St. will offer care for minor injuries and illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS testing. The project to promote youth health, called H.O.T. Boards for health on the boards, will also provide counseling for alcohol and drug abuse and pregnancy and prevention education. Call 289-4044.

O.C. ads to be aired on D.C. cable TV

For the first time, the resort will advertise on cable TV stations in the Washington area this fall. The Ocean City Council had agreed to spend about $313,000 for commercials that will be shown on cable channels including CNN and ESPN. The town will also advertise on TV stations in Baltimore and continue to use radio and print advertising.

Berlin honors vets with Patriotic Day

The Berlin Chamber of Commerce will host a Patriotic Day on July 21 to honor military veterans of all wars, include Operation Desert Storm. Plans include a parade and concert.
