Tina Emory of Woodholme Elementary School has won first place in Center Stage's Young Playwrights Festival Competition for a play entitled "A Doggone Dream." The script was selected from among 160 statewide entries.

James Joseph Fabiszak of Baltimore recently received an appointment to the Naval Academy. He was nominated by Representative Helen D. Bentley, R-2nd.

Sean Alisea, Marion Beck, Melissa George, Kristie Gisiner, Amy Hellen, Jennifer Lantz, Donald Lee, Kim Sanders and Melissa Weber of Baltimore are the recipients of the Key Scholarships at Villa Julie College, which provide full tuition at the college for the academic year 1991-1992.

Katie Shields of Catonsville received top honors in the 31st annual Modeling Association of America International Convention at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.

Irene E. Newhouse of Linthicum received a plaque in honor of her retirement after 12 years of service on the Anne Arundel Community College Board of Trustees.
