Add Towson State's Terry Truax to the list of basketball coaches interested in the vacant head coaching position at South Carolina.
"I have applied for the job," Truax told The Sun last night from Tampa, Fla., where he is attending his son's high school graduation. "That's the only contact I've had. Right now I have no feel for what's going on. No one has contacted me from South Carolina."
Truax, who also has pursued jobs at Virginia Tech and Old Dominion since the Tigers were eliminated from the NCAA tournament in the first round, has been looking for a higher profile position and a better salary. Towson State athletic director Billy Hunter has promised to restructure Truax's salary -- believed to be about $50,000 last season -- but Hunter also has granted South Carolina athletic director King Dixon permission to speak with Truax about the job.
