June 06, 1991

A Bel Air motorist was killed yesterday afternoon when a dump truck filled with dirt veered across the center lane of Ebenezer Road near Pulaski Highway and slammed head-on into his car, Baltimore County police said.

According to police, Westley Menson Blackmon, 59, of the 5800 block of Pine Hill Drive, White Marsh, had been driving his 1984 Buick northbound on Ebenezer Road at 2:55 p.m. when his car was struck by a dump truck driven by Charles Edward Cullum, 43, of Havre De Grace.

Police said Mr. Cullum had lost control of his truck, running it off the road into a ditch, where it traveled about 100 feet before it veered back into traffic.

Mr. Blackmon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr. Cullum, who was not injured, was given three traffic citations, according to police..
