Joseph B. Cornelius has been named a vice president in the Cash Management Services Division at Chase Bank of Maryland. He is in charge of product development and operations for the division. He comes to Chase after eight years at Maryland National Bank, where he most recently was vice president of cash management sales. Prior to that, he worked at Equitable Bank for seven years.
Richard Peterson has joined FBW Investment Management as vice president and senior portfolio manager. A chartered financial analyst, Peterson has over 22 years of professional asset management experience. He previously worked for R. Meeder & Associates where he managed two mutual funds and individual portfolios. Before that, as a senior vice president at the Toledo Trust Co., he oversaw the management of $1.6 billion in trust funds.
Stephen W. Kadlubowski has been named a principal of Yaffe & Co. Inc. He is a group benefits consultant with the benefit, compensation and human resource consulting firm. Before joining Yaffe, he was with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maryland and Monumental Life Insurance.
James M. Mason has been given additional responsibilities as manager, southern area and mineral reserves, for Genstar Stone Products Co. He is in charge of operations management at the company's sand and gravel plants at Chase, White Marsh and Davidsonville. He also is responsible for aggregate deposit analysis at all mining locations. Mason joined the company in 1986.
5/8 Laura K. Wagner has joined the staff of Warfield's magazine as advertising sales representative. She is responsible for generating ads in the full-color publication. For the last three years, she was senior account executive/public affairs for the Baltimore Business Journal.
The University of Maryland at Baltimore has named James T. Hill Jr. vice president of administrative affairs and Fred Brooke Lee vice president of institutional development.
Hill will be responsible for budgetary and financial affairs, business and general management, human resources services and facilities management. Previously he was associate vice president for fiscal and human resources.
Lee will be responsible for development, community relations, publications and communications. He comes to UMAB from the University of Maryland System office where he has been director of corporate relations.
Susan M. Gerhold has joined Shapiro and Olander as an associate. She will practice exclusively in the environmental area. Previously she was with the general counsel's office of Bethlehem Steel Corp. in Bethlehem, Pa.
Patrick J. McManamon has been appointed director of international pricing for CSX Intermodal, the business unit of CSX Corp. that offers rail and truck services nationwide. Previously he held sales and pricing positions at Sea Land Service Inc.
Kevin T. Garvey has joined Chapel Valley Landscape Co. as a residential landscape developer. Before joining the company, he was a landscape designer and project manager with William F. Kirwin Inc. and then worked in real estate for O'Connor, Piper & Flynn.
