Long & Foster Real Estate Inc. has named Joan Russell manager of thePasadena/Gibson Island office at 4100-D Mountain Road.

Russell, aDavidsonville resident, has 24 years of real estate experience in the Washington/Baltimore corridor. Prior to joining Long & Foster, she was the recruiter for O'Connor, Piper & Flynn and Coldwell Banker's regional recruiter for Prince George's and Anne Arundel counties.

LADDTAKES OVER MARLEY

Ed Ladd has been appointed general manager of Marley Station shopping center in Glen Burnie.

Previously the assistant general manager of Fairlane Town Center, a leading shopping center outside Detroit, Ladd brings more than 17 years of retail experience to his new position.

Ladd joined the Taubman Co., which owns Marley Station, in 1988 as an assistant general manager of Lakeside Shopping Center outside Detroit.

A native of Tennessee, Ladd studied at the University of Indiana and later used his skill in the Russian language with an Air Force intelligence unit in Vietnam.

THOMPSON JOINS MCCRONE

Philip M. Thompson has joined the Annapolis headquarters of McCrone Inc. in the land development engineering department.

Thompson, a registered professional engineer in Texas and Maryland, has a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Maryland.

Currently, Thompson is working on the residential subdivisions of Ravens Ridge, South River Colony, and Woodhaven for the land planning and surveying firm.

A resident of Gambrills, Thompson is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, and several other engineering organizations. Prior to joining McCrone, he was a department head for a consulting engineering firm in Maryland and a project engineer for the Maryland Water Resources Administration.

BOARD MEMBERS ELECTED

McCrone Inc. recently elected two new members to its board of directors.

Richard A. Rice and Richard H. Cassell, both professional engineers, were elected to the consulting, land surveying and engineering firm.

Rice, a resident of Annapolis, is the chief of public works for McCrone's Annapolis headquarters and has over 24 years of civil engineering experience. He has provided engineering management, contract inspection and management, and personnel managementin many projects in the region. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Cassell, who lives in Owings Mills, is a member of the Maryland Association of Engineers and several other engineering associations. He has a bachelor of science degree in engineering physics from Louisiana Technical University in Ruston, La., and isan experienced project manager, with 22 years of planning and engineering design.
