A salute to the past in Cumberland

Cumberland will celebrate its past with Heritage Days '91 Saturday and next Sunday in the Washington Street Historic District and on the Cumberland Mall. Entertainment will include music, crafts demonstrations, aerobic and karate demonstrations. The sidewalks will feature arts and crafts displays, strolling jugglers, magicians, storytellers and food vendors. There will also be an antique show, carriage and trolley rides and children's activities. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

Guided tours of the city's historic Victorian public buildings and train rides on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad are available for a fee. For information, call (301) 777-5905.
