For any girl who has envisioned becoming a famous model surely this must seem a dream come true: Allison Dacey of Annapolis is one of eight finalists in the Seventeen magazine and JC Penney Cover Model Contest.

Not only does the 15-year-old Annapolis High sophomore leavfor New York on June 2 for a week-long visit that will include trips to top hair salons, sessions with makeup artists and a $250 wardrobe from JC Penney, but she will compete to be the October '91 cover girl for Seventeen.

Although the daughter of a movie theater owner has competein pagaents and has modeled for local stores such as Annapolis Formals since she was about 10 years old, getting selected by Penneys and Seventeen came as a big shock. "I was really surprised I never thought I'd make it to the finals. I sent in head shots and a full-length to Penneys and they sent them to Seventeen," Allison says. "I'd love to be a model, I've always wanted to be one."
