Firing Robinson won't help Orioles

It's your call

May 28, 1991

The Orioles were correct in firing Frank Robinson, but it won't make a difference in the standings, according to Evening Sun readers and other respondents to "It's Your Call" this weekend.

Fifty-three percent (405 votes) of the 763 who responded said the Orioles were correct in "reassigning" Robinson. But 69 percent (523 votes) of the 759 who responded about improvement said new manager John Oates won't help the team in the AL East race.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.
