Baltimore City

ABDUCTION: Northeastern District -- Jeffrey Bowden, of the 200 block of Southway, reported he was in the 4900 block of Belair Road late yesterday evening and walking toward his car after using an outdoor pay phone when three men, one armed with a handgun, approached and forced him into the vehicle. Bowden told police he was ordered to drive to the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane and get money from an automatic teller machine. After arriving at the ATM, Bowden told police, he got out and was about to enter the booth when the men got out of his car, got into a burgundy-colored Cadillac and drove off. Police said the men did not rob Bowden and that the second car apparently followed Bowden and the three men to the teller machine.

ASSAULT/ARRESTS: Northeastern District -- Police arrested two women in connection with the assault last night of a resident of the Hollander Ridge apartment complex near her home. Police said Adeletha Kennedy, 29, of the 7300 block of Mallory Court, reported that during an incident near her home around 8 p.m., she was attacked by two women who struck her over the head with a baseball bat. Police said Kennedy refused medical treatment and that the women were held overnight at the women's detention center at the Central District station pending formal charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Evelyn Denlein, of the 3700 block of Timahoe Circle, reported she was in the 300 block of N. Gilmor St. around noon Monday when she was accosted by an unarmed man who forced her to give up her purse. Police said the man escaped with cash and property, all valued at about $12.

ASSAULT/ROBBERY: Western District -- Thomas Manning, of the 100 block of Edgewood St., told police he was in the 1900 block of W. North Ave. when he was attacked by a man armed with a knife. Police said the armed man robbed Manning of $12 in cash and then stabbed him in the lower back. Police said

Manning was taken by ambulance to Liberty Medical Center, where he was treated.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Police reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 2200 block of Madison Ave. and stole building equipment and tools valued at nearly $1,400. Police said entry was gained through a rear basement door and that hand and power tools, a ladder and other pieces of equipment were taken.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Officials of the Baltimore City Housing Authority reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 1600 block of Vincent Court and stole 14 boxes of floor tiles. Police said the property was valued at nearly $600 and that entry was gained through a rear door.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Herman Auddersch, of the 3500 block of Northway Drive, reported that while his car was parked near his home yesterday, someone removed all four of the car's wheel covers. Police said the property was valued at $300.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Employees of the C&P Telephone Co. in the 4700 block of Harford Road reported that someone entered a job site in the 7100 block of McClean Blvd. yesterday and stole a telephone computer. Police said the equipment was valued at $2,000.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Charles Chambers, of the 4700 block of Charlton Ave., told police his car was parked near his home yesterday when someone broke into the vehicle and stole a stereo radio and a pair of shoes. Chambers told police the thief also stole the vehicle's license plates and that the total value of the property was $70.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1000 block of Andover Road reported that someone broke into his garage and stole a Honda dirt bike, a 10-speed bike and a lawn mower. Police said the property was valued at more than $1,000.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 5000 block of Goodnow Road reported someone broke into her apartment yesterday and stole property valued at more than $2,000. Police said the intruder entered through a kitchen window and stole a compact disc player, several compact discs, stereo speakers, an equalizer and a TV.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Officials of the city Department of Transportation told police that someone stole a parking meter from its post in the 3400 block of Belair Road. Police said the meter was valued at nearly $200.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Howard Miller, of the 1800 block of E. 29th St., reported that while his car was parked in the 2800 block of Fenwick Ave., someone stole the vinyl grille cover. Police said the equipment was valued at $100.

THEFT: Northern District -- Keith Ryles, of the 6100 block of Green Meadow Parkway, reported that while his 1987 Nissan pickup truck was parked near his home over the weekend, someone broke into the vehicle and stole a Star-make .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun and a radar detector. Police said the property was valued at nearly $400 and that entry was gained by using a tool to break at least one of the door locks.
