Trade Council Honors 3

Notes

May 20, 1991

The Anne Arundel Trade Council presented awards to members Bruce Williamson, founder of Snow White Cleaners Inc.; Joseph Conte, presidentof J& A Builders; and Michael T. Rose Associates at the recent TradeCouncil spring general membership meeting.

Williamson received his award in recognition of decades of extraordinary contributions to the community.

In 1971, he opened Snow White Cleaners in Eastport Shopping Center in Annapolis and began serving on the Trade Council the same year. At 73, he is still active in the business and is a member of the council's board of directors.

Named the 1991 Community Leader of the Year, Conte is the developer of the Conte I office building, which opened in Annapolis in 1988.

Conte has donated use of the building's conference room to many civic and charity organizations and has sponsored a variety of charity fund-raisers over the last few years. His fund-raisers have benefited the American Cancer Society, the St. Mary's High School football team, the Wellness Community and others.

Conte was named Volunteer of the Week by the Capital newspaper recently.
