A Baltimore man was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Norrisville Road near the Pennsylvania line at 2:15 a.m. Thursday, state police at Benson said.

Gary W. Kline Sr., 42, was traveling south at a high rate of speed when his Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck failed to negotiate a curve, went off the road and overturned, police said.

Kline was thrown from the vehicle, which came to rest on top of him, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Norrisville Road has a 25 mph speed limit. Police did not say how fast they estimate Kline's car was traveling at the time of the accident.

Kline is the eighth person to be killed in a traffic accident in Harford County this year.

An Edgewood man has been charged with attempting to abduct a 3-year-old Joppatowne boy from his home in late April, Harford District Court records show.

Douglas L. Brown, 27, was charged with two counts of attempting to abduct or entice a child younger than 12, the records show. He is being held in the county Detention Center on $100,000 bond.

Charging documents filed in district court say that Brown opened the door ofhis 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo at the boy's home in the 1000 block of Plaza Circle and tried to get the boy to come into the car April 29.

When the boy's father saw Brown, the suspect drove from the scene, police said.

On May 8, Brown stopped his car in front of the boy's home again while the boy and another child were playing in the yard, police said.

Brown rolled down the window of his maroon Monte Carlo, but he drove off when he saw that a neighbor was watching him, police said.

At both incidents, witnesses said the suspect had a brown puppy in his car, police said.
