T. Richard Sleichter Retired golf pro

T. Richard "Dick" Sleichter, a retired professional golfer, died in Tampa, Fla., on May 8. He was 73.

Mr. Sleichter was golf pro at Chartwell Country Club in Severna Park from 1961 to 1970 and assistant golf pro at the U.S. Naval Academy from 1950 to 1954. He was golf pro at the Gettysburg, Pa., Golf and Country Club from 1954 to 1961.

He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Born in Scotland, Pa., Mr. Sleichter moved to Tampa in 1972 from Severna Park.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Griffin Sleichter of Tampa; a son, Charles H. Sleichter of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Mary Kathryn Chiapparelli of Baltimore; a sister, Margaret Payne of Hagerstown; and two grandchildren.
