Vanderbilt -- G Matt Maloney (19 minutes per game) and C John Amaechi announced they will leave basketball program.

Dallas Cowboys -- Fired pro personnel director John Wooten, the club's only black executive and 1 of the few longtime members of the organization to survive the ownership change 2 years ago.

Kansas City Chiefs -- Named Mark Hatley director of pro personnel.

New York Jets -- Announced they will not sign QB Tony Eason, allowing him to become free agent.

Hockey

NHL -- Suspended Edmonton Oilers F Glenn Anderson first 3 games of next season for kicking Minnesota North Stars F Gaetan Duchesne in Game 4 of the Campbell Conference finals.

Calgary Flames -- Cliff Fletcher, general manager since 1972, stepped down as GM and president and said he might move on to another NHL team. Doug Risebrough will add the GM's duties to his role as coach. Hockey Canada president Bill Hay will take over as club president.

New York Islanders -- Named Bob Nystrom director of amateur hockey development and community relations.
