A man who jumped through the window of a Brooklyn Park laundromat Friday while attempting to elude police died of his injuries, Anne Arundel County police said.
Russell Paris, 34, of Temple Hills in Prince George's County, died early yesterday at the Shock-Trauma Unit in Baltimore, Anne Arundel police said. He had received extensive lacerations of the face and neck.
Police said that a man tried to break into the home of Robert Marcoccio, of the 900 block of Church St., about 11 p.m. Friday but fled when Marcoccio locked the door and brandished a large knife.
Marcoccio then called police.
When police responded, the man darted from the front porch of Marcoccio's house, ran along the street and jumped through the front window of a laundromat, shattering the window and severely cutting his face and neck.
