Man seriously hurt as he smashes into Brooklyn window

May 12, 1991

A man was seriously injured when he leaped into the window of a Brooklyn laundromat Friday after he apparently tried to force his way into a home nearby, police and witnesses said yesterday.

The man, whom Anne Arundel County police had not identified, was reported in grave condition last night at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, being treated for cuts to the neck and head.

Robert Marcoccio of the 900 block of Church Street said the man, who appeared to be in his early 20s, came to his front porch about 11 p.m. Friday and said, "I want to come in."

Mr. Marcoccio said he and his wife locked the doors and called police. Mr. Marcoccio showed a large ornamental knife through a window, and the man then left.

When two Anne Arundel County police cars arrived, the man ran into the laundromat window.
