Frank J. Burke, chief of janitorial services for the Baltimore Association for Retarded Citizens, is the 1991 recipient of the Herbert L. Fedder Award in recognition of superior management and achievement in his 17 years of service to the non-profit organization.

Theresa C. Boer has been named admissions officer at Essex Community College.

Todd Calhoun, Heather Hastings, Gerald K. Hicks, Alice L. Kovens, Andrea M. Martin, Elmer Sembly III, Colleen P. Taylor, Elizabeth A. Tucker and Naomi Willey of Villa Julie College are recipients of a special award for academic/leadership

achievements during the 1990-1991 school year.

The Rev. George Kalpaxis is retiring as pastor of the Saint Nicholas Christian Orthodox Greek Church.

Bernadine London was installed as president of the St. Agnes Hospital auxiliary during the annual meeting held recently.

Barbara A. Trietley was inducted into the Mount St. Joseph High School Alumni Association at the annual alumni communion breakfast in March. She is the first woman honorary alumnus in the 115-year history of Mount St. Joseph High School.

Professors Francis "Skip" Fennell and Ethan A. Seidel were presented with highest honors for their teaching excellence at the annual Senior Honors and Investiture Convocation held in April at Western Maryland College.

I. King Jordan, a champion of the rights of deaf individuals anpresident of Gallaudet University, will be presented an honorary doctorate degree in humane letters at Western Maryland College's 121st Commencement.
