An article in the April 26 editions of The Sun incorrectly reported that the U.S. Military Academy in 1989 became the first of the service academies to name a woman to command its student corps. In fact, the Coast Guard Academy named Linda Johansen as regimental commander of its corps of cadets in 1980, while the Air Force Academy named Michelle D. Johnson as cadet wing commander in 1981 -- the first time at each that a woman was named to the top student leadership position.
