Charles E. Linn, a retired Baltimore police lieutenant who helped set up the city's first police radio system, died Saturday at Fallston General Hospital of complications from a heart attack.
He was 84 and lived in Forest Hill.
A mass of Christian burial for Mr. Linn was being offered today at St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church, Harford Road and Gibbons Avenue.
He retired as a lieutenant about 30 years ago, after 32 years of service.
He is survived by a son, Charles E. Linn Jr. of Forest Hill; a daughter, Joanna M. Nicolay of St. Michaels; two brothers, Monsignor Francis J. Linn of Towson and William V. Linn of St. Michaels; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
