Marc Rogers has been named director of corporate audit for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maryland. Formerly director of internal audit for EQUICOR Inc., he helped develop the joint venture between the Hospital Corp. of America and the Equitable Life Assurance Society.

Financial services

Sharrie K. Wade and Ron Hutchinson have been elected to the board of directors of North Arundel Savings Bank, FSB. Wade is a partner in the certified public accounting firm of Clark and Anderson, P.A. Hutchinson is a Realtor who is president of Water Oak Realty Ltd.

* At Alex. Brown & Sons Inc., M. Elliott Randolph Jr. and Paul D. Corbin have joined the 1800 Capital Management Group, the investment advisory service that manages portfolios for a fee. Randolph was formerly an executive vice president and director of Monument Capital Management and before that was a senior vice president and chief investment officer of First National Bank of Maryland's Asset Management Division. Corbin was formerly a senior vice president and senior fixed-income portfolio manager at First National.

Elizabeth Levy Malis has joined PWA Group Ltd. as a writer and the media liaison. Malis previously worked as a staff writer for Patuxent Publishing, the Baltimore Business Journal and the News American. Last year she received an award from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society for an article about a swim program at the Catonsville YMCA. Philip Willen Associates, a unit of the PWA Group, specializes in health care. Robert W. Schroeder has been named vice president-Packaging Group for McCormick & Co. Inc. He retains his position as president of Tubed Products Inc., a subsidiary of McCormick.

Steven G. Zacks has been named programmer/analyst for the Management Information Systems team of the McCormick Ingredients unit of the corporation. He joined McCormick from CSX Corp.'s Chessie Computer Services.

Robert G. Pyper has been named mill manager for the ingredients unit, where he is responsible for the processing and packaging departments. He joins the company from Engelhard Corp. in Louisville, Ky.

Paul W. Grimm has returned to Niles, Barton & Wilmer as a partner. Formerly of Jordan, Coyne, Savits & Lopata, Grimm previously served as an assistant attorney general.

David D. Gilliss joins the firm as an associate.

* George K. Reynolds 3rd has joined Gordon, Feinblatt, Rothman, Hoffberger & Hollander as partner and chairman of the Trusts and Estates Department. His practice encompasses estate and tax planning for individuals and closely held businesses. He is a former partner with Venable, Baetjer and Howard who has practiced law for about 15 years.

Rabbi Mendel Freedman, elementary school principal of Bais Yaakov School for Girls, was chosen as chairman of the National Leadership Convention of Torah Umesorah, the national organization for Jewish day schools. The annual convention, held recently in Catskill, N.Y., was attended by more than 700 educational leaders.

George Wacker, an associate technical director and head of the Ship Materials Engineering Department at David Taylor Research Center, has received a Presidential Rank Award for meritorious service.
