DRUG ARRESTS: Western District -- Police last night arrested 20 men on various drug charges during a sweep of several neighborhoods. Police said the charges included possession of heroin, cocaine and marijuana and possession of the same drugs with intent to distribute. The men, police said, were arrested between 4 p.m. and midnight in the 600 block of N. Payson St.; the 700 block of N. Calhoun St.; the 1000 block of N. Stockton St.; the 1800 block of N. Pulaski St.; the 700 block of N. Fulton Ave., and the 1800 block of W. Lanvale St. Police said a small quantity of drugs was recovered during the arrests and that all the men were held overnight at the station lockup pending bail review hearings today before a District Court commissioner. In addition, police arrested 13 other men in unrelated drug cases and were holding them at the station pending bail hearings.

ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Tammy Christon, 25, of the 4000 block of Sinclair Lane, reported that during an incident at her home, a man she knows hit her with his fists. Police said Christon refused medical treatment and was advised to seek a warrant for the man's arrest. Immediately following the assault on Christon, Anthony Romeo, 28, of the 200 block of S. Clinton St., the man who allegedly struck Christon, was assaulted by a man with a shovel outside Christon's house. Police said Romeo sustained serious injuries to the upper body and an arm and was hospitalized at Francis Scott Key Medical Center.

THEFT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police responding to a shoplifting at the Giant Food store in the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane arrested a teen-age girl who attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise. Police said the teen-ager was detained by a store security officer until police arrived. The teen-ager was charged as a juvenile and released in the custody of her parents pending action by juvenile authorities.

THEFT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police reported a woman was arrested when she attempted to leave the K mart store in the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane without paying for merchandise valued at nearly $36. Police said the woman was stopped by a store security officer when he noticed she failed to enter the check-out line and pay for the items. Police said the woman was taken to the women's detention center at the Central District pending theft charges.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 3300 block of Kentucky Ave. reported that someone broke into her home through the basement door and took several pieces of property.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police reported a deliveryman for Domino's Pizza in the 6300 block of Sherwood Ave. was accosted by a man with a handgun on Ramblewood Road Tuesday night and robbed of $30. Police said the deliveryman, whose name was not available, was returning to his car after delivering a food order to the residents of a house in the 1200 block of Ramblewood Road when he was stopped by a man who demanded his money.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- August VanDe Castle, of the 4200 block of Harford Terrace, reported that someone entered his home early yesterday and took property valued at more than $500. Police said cash and several checks were reported taken from a bedroom dresser drawer.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Daniel Cammue, of the 2400 block of Bridgehampton Drive, reported that someone broke into his car while it was on the lot of the Exxon service station in the 2300 block of E. Northern Parkway and took an in--- AM-FM stereo cassette radio.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Officials of C&P Management in the 5500 block of Bowleys Lane reported that someone broke into the maintenance shop and took three extension cords, three toilet seats, at least one toilet and a vacuum cleaner. Police said entry into the shop was through a side door.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Ida Dee, of the 3600 block of Echodale Ave., reported that someone took property valued at more than $100 from her back porch.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Employees of the Fashion Bug in the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane reported that a man took an assortment of clothing from the store. Police said that an inventory indicated the clothing was valued at nearly $340.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A resident of the 200 block of Southway reported that someone broke into his garage and took several bikes, valued at more than $1,000.

THEFT: Northern District -- Paul Canner, of the 700 block of N. Hilton St., reported someone broke into his parked car in the 5800 block of York Road and took an electronic portable calculator valued at $200.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Charles Blake, of the 600 block of Willow Ave., reported he was walking near his home early yesterday when he was accosted by a man with a handgun who forced him to give up his money. Police said Blake gave up more than $200 to the man.
