UM professor honored nationally

Ralph F. Shangraw, a professor at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, has been named 1991 Distinguished Pharmacy Educator by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.

Shangraw, chairman of the pharmaceutics department, is to be honored at the association's awards banquet July 9 in Boston. The association cited Shagraw for excellence in teaching, education-related research and service activities.

The competition is open to educators teaching at the 74 colleges and schools of pharmacy in the United States and Puerto Rico.

Shangraw has been with the university since 1958.

Maryland's pharmacy school is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.
