Girl, 2, With Cancer

Community notes

April 30, 1991

Cheryl and Kenneth Linton are parents to four children and members of the Ferndale Volunteer Fire Company. In the past month, their 2-year-old daughter, Carol, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a bilateral cancer that causes tumors around the bone and in the bone marrow.

The board of directors, officers and members of the Ferndale Volunteer Company, along with the Career Personnel, are asking for help to pay for Carol's treatments.

There is no medical insurance to cover any of the cost. A bank account will be set up as the Carol Linton Fund at Maryland National Bank. Donations can be turned in to Company 34. All checks should be made out to "The Carol Linton Fund."

Tables will be set up in front of Giant in Cromwell to take donations on May 3, 4 and 5. Face-painting will be available on May 4, with all proceeds going to the fund.

More face-painting is scheduled from noon to 7 p.m. on June 8 and 1to 5 p.m. June 9 at Harundale Mall.

A dance to benefit the fund is scheduled for 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on June 29 at Columbian Center on Ritchie Highway. A cold buffet, beer and set-ups, plus music by The Sentries Band, will be available for a donation of $15. Call for ticket information.

If you can help, contact the fire company.

Information: 766-2131.
