Services for Mildred I. Smith, a resident of Ellicott City for 50 years, will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Glen Mar United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Anders Lunt and the Rev. William Apsley will officiate the service. Burial will follow at St. John's Episcopal Church Cemetery in Ellicott City.

Mrs. Smith, 84, a retired teacher and bookkeeper, died April 25 from complications of a brain tumor.

Mrs. Smith, who was born in Centralia, Ill., was the daughter of the late James and Josephine Dunbar. She and her husband, Morris G. Smith, were married and moved to Maryland in 1930. The Smiths celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in December.

In 1953, she helped found the Glen Mar Church. In addition to her volunteer work at the church, Mrs. Smith was past president of the Ellicott City Soroptomist Club, a member of several local PTAs and an avid bowler.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband; three daughters, Dixie Miliner, of Ellicott City, Shirley Adams, of Columbia and Sharon Lawson, of Havre de Grace; and seven grandchildren.
