Foreman retirement wins by split decision

It's your call

April 23, 1991

By a margin about as slim as George Foreman's loss to heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, respondents said the 42-year-old former champion should retire.

Fifty-four percent (129 callers) of those responding to yesterday's "It's Your Call" said Foreman should take his $12.5 million from Friday's championship loss and quit for good. The other 46 percent (109 callers) said Foreman should continue fighting.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.
