Kansas City Royals -- Placed reliever Mark Davis on 15-day disabled list on Sunday, retroactive to Saturday. He is likely to miss 4 to 6 weeks because of a badly damaged fingernail and small fracture on the tip of his left ring finger.

Toronto Blue Jays -- Placed P Tom Henke on 15-day disabled list. Called up P Bob MacDonald from Class AAA Syracuse.


Minnesota Timberwolves -- Fired Bill Musselman, coach.


Fordham -- Named Chris Mattura offensive coordinator and Joe Lindner full-time assistant football coach.


New York Rangers -- Fired John Diller, president.

Los Angeles Kings -- Recalled center Sylvain Couturier from Phoenix of the International Hockey League to replace injured forwards Tomas Sandstrom and Bob Kudelski. Sandstrom broke his right thigh and Kudelski strained his right knee in Saturday night's 4-3, double-overtime loss to Edmonton. Neither is expected to play again this season.
