Ted Hendricks has been named executive editor of Homestead Publishing Co., which publishes the Aegis, the Record and the Sunday Weekly in Harford County and the Times in the Perry Hall area of Baltimore County.

Jonathan C. Angier 4th has been named vice president, operations; and Arnold Applebaum, vice president and publisher, of the Adler Group Inc. The company publishes the Apartment Shoppers Guide in Baltimore, Washington and Detroit; the Baltimore New Homes Guide; and Jobs, an employment newspaper in the Baltimore-Washington market, among others. At Chase Bank of Maryland, Dorrie S. Rubin is named vice president of marketing communications. Stephen C. Gryglewski, Lynn Karas, David A. Knicely and Stanley Koussis have been promoted to assistant vice president and Colleen M. Palmer to assistant treasurer.

Geraldine H. Stegner has been elected assistant secretary and Maureen A. Jones, assistant treasurer at Adams Express Co. and its affiliate company, Petroleum & Resources Inc. John A. Barnes, a former lieutenant colonel in the Baltimore City Police Department, has joined the University of Maryland Medical System as director of safety and security.

At the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, William H. McLean is the new director of security. McLean, who worked eight years for the city police department, joined Broadway Services Inc. in 1984. Broadway is a for-profit Hopkins subsidiary. John Murray Friesen has been named vice president of finance and planning for the Group Market Division at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maryland.

USF&G Corp. has named Dan Hale executive vice president. He will head the company's Diversified Investment Group. Previously he was president and chief executive officer of the Chase Manhattan Leasing Co.

At USF&G's subsidiary, Fidelity and Guaranty Life Insurance Co., Ihor Hron has been named president. Besides heading all life insurance operations, he will have responsibility for the marketing subsidiary, Investor Life Services. Thomas C. Parkinson Jr., a certified public accountant, has been appointed director of finance at Purdum and Jeschke, consulting engineers and land surveyors.

Robert E. Mallonee, a civil engineer and the former president of the Baltimore County Highway Contractors Association, has been named vice president of marketing at Bryn Awel Corp.

Loten T. "Tuck" Masker has joined the RBA Group as a supervising engineer. Masker, formerly with the Marriott Corp., will be responsible for land development projects in RBA's Columbia office. Hannah Cooperman has been named coordinator of grants and annual giving at Essex Community College. Previously, she was an assistant grant writer at the Walters Art Gallery.

At Goucher College, Yun K. Kim has been named director of institutional research. For the past two years, she has been research associate for institutional research at Southwest Missouri State University. Assistant Attorney General Ben C. Clyburn has been appointed chief counsel to the state Department of Transportation.


Tom Lucas has been named vice president of sales for Inland Leidy Inc. Lucas is president of the Baltimore Paint and Coatings Association.
