SHOOTING: Northern District -- Sylvester Brown, of the 500 block of Wyanoke Ave., reported he was in the 700 block of Cator Ave. shortly before 6 p.m. yesterday when he was shot by a man he knows. Police said Brown, whose head was grazed by the bullet, was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital and released. Police said the gunman was being sought.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Employees of the P&J Trucking Co. in the 200 block of S. Kresson St. reported that someone entered the property between 11 p.m. and midnight Wednesday and removed 10 truck tires. Police said the tires had a total value of $1,000.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- Charles Heree, 19, of the 800 block of N. Castle St., reported he was walking near his home when he was accosted by two men, one with a handgun, who ordered him to give up his money. Police said the gunman and his accomplice fled with more than $90.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- Police reported that two men, one with a handgun, entered the Shell auto center in the 2000 block of Orleans St. about 11 a.m. Wednesday and removed several hundred dollars from a secured area before forcing an attendant into a back room. The attendant, who was unharmed, called police several minutes after the gunman and his accomplice escaped.

BURGLARY/ARRESTS: Southeastern District -- Police responding to a burglary in progress at Sheppard's Discount Mart in the 3800 block of Eastern Ave. arrested a man and a teen-ager when they attempted to flee. Police said the pair climbed up a rainspout to a window. Police said both were being held at the station pending burglary charges.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- Danita Dennis, 18, of the 2200 block of Ashland Ave., told police she was in the 700 block of N. Castle St. yesterday evening when she was stopped by a man with a handgun who forced her to give up her purse. Police said the man escaped with cash and property, all valued at nearly $170.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Austin Brown, of the 2100 block of Boyd St., reported he was in the 4000 block of Park Heights Ave. Wednesday morning when he was accosted by two men, one with a handgun, who robbed him of his money and jewelry. Police said the gunman and his companion escaped with cash and property, all valued at more than $200.

SHOOTING: Northwestern District -- Bobby Edwards, of the 2600 block of Rosewood Ave., told police that during an incident in the 4500 block of Park Heights Ave. Wednesday, he was assaulted by a man who shot him in the leg. Police said Edwards was admitted at Sinai Hospital.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Employees of G&B Auto Repair in the 2600 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway reported that someone broke into the garage through the front door and removed tools valued at nearly $1,300.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 5500 block of Lynview Ave. reported that someone broke into his home and removed a bike valued at more than $100. Later, police arrested a 13-year-old boy in connection with the incident and charged him as a juvenile with burglary. Following charges, police released the youth in the custody of his parents.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Glenwood Johnson, of the 8800 block of Fontana Lane in the White Marsh section of Baltimore County, told police he was robbed of $80 while standing next to an automatic teller machine in the 1200 block of Mondawmin Ave. Wednesday afternoon.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Police were seeking a man who entered Slater's Grocery and Delicatessen in the 5100 block of Park Heights Ave. and gave a cashier a note demanding money. Police said that when the clerk read the note, she began to laugh, causing the unarmed man to run out of the store without taking any money.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1700 block of Ashburton St. reported to police that someone broke into her home and removed a cheese steak sub, a package of hot dogs, several eggs and other food items.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Police reported that a wooden table and carpeting was removed from a dwelling in the 700 block of N. Carey St. after someone broke in. Police said the property was valued at more than $300.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Property valued at more than $300 was removed from a dwelling in the 1600 block of N. Appleton St. after someone used a key to gain entry. Police said the burglar made off with a TV and a radio.

ASSAULT: Western District -- Debbie Walls, of the 1100 block of Mosher St., reported that during an incident involving her ex-boyfriend at her home late Wednesday night, she was choked and nearly smothered when the man placed a pillow over her face. Police said Walls was treated for injuries at the scene by the crew of a fire department ambulance and that a suspect was arrested in connection with the incident.
