Baltimore City

ASSAULT ON OFFICER: Western District -- Police arrested a man and were holding him at the station pending charges that he assaulted a police officer who was arresting him in the 1700 block of Harlem Ave. Police said Officer Charles Hymiller was bitten on the right hand and later treated at Bon Secours Hospital and released. It was not immediately known why the man was being arrested.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Police reported that someone broke into a car owned by the Maryland Auto Insurance Fund while it was parked in the 6500 block of Belair Road and removed two pairs of prescription eyeglasses. Police said the property was valued at nearly $340 and that entry into the vehicle was by forcing a rear door.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Shirleen Webb, of the 900 block of Gorsuch Ave., reported that someone stole her automatic teller machine card and removed more than $200 from her account.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Police reported that someone broke into a truck owned by the Three Rivers Trucking Co. while it was parked in the 6700 block of Quad Ave. and removed seven multispeed bikes. Police said the bikes had a total value of nearly $1,800.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Dennis Jackson, of the 900 block of Belgian Ave., reported he was in the 2200 block of Pentland Drive when he was stopped by two men, one armed with a handgun, who demanded his money. Police said the gunman and his accomplice fled with more than $150.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Gail Pridgen, of the 1800 block of Sauers Court, reported that someone entered her room at Good Samaritan Hospital, in the 5600 block of Loch Raven Blvd., while she was asleep and removed personal property valued at more than $260 from her nightstand.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- A truck driver for Robin Express, of Cleveland, reported that while his tractor-trailer was parked in the 6400 block of Pulaski Highway, someone broke into the tractor and removed property valued at more than $250. The unidentified driver told police the thief made off with $135, a briefcase and a travel bag. Police said entry was gained by breaking one of the tractor's windows with a rock.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Employees of the West Coast Video store in the 7600 block of Harford Road reported that someone broke into the building by cutting a hole in the roof. Police said the intruder removed more than $900 from an office safe and a cash box.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 2200 block of Lake Ave. reported that someone broke into his garage and removed a saw valued at more than $500. Police said entry was gained by forcing the garage door.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that a deliverywoman for Domino's pizza in the 6300 block of Kenwood Ave. was robbed of cash and personal property while making a delivery in the 5900 block of Daywalt Ave. Police said the woman turned over more than $100 and property to an unarmed man who accosted her. The man fled. Police said the call for a food order at the address was fake and that it the latest in a series of phony telephone orders for food from at least two pizza shops in the area in the past few days.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Jennifer Hartman, of the 3900 block of Ridgecroft Road, reported she was talking on an outside telephone in the 3200 block of Belair Road when a man armed with a handgun approached and demanded she give up her money. Police said the gunman fled with less than $10.

THEFT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police responding to the McCrory's department store in the 5400 block of Harford Road arrested a 14-year-old boy who attempted to leave the store without paying for items valued at nearly $9. The youth, who was charged with delinquency in the theft, was released in the custody of his parents pending action by juvenile authorities.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Motlagh Parvizi, of the 3200 block of Chesterfield Ave., reported she was about to enter her car in the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane when a man approached her from behind, reached over her back and stole her purse. Police said the man escaped with cash and property, all valued at nearly $170.

ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Chauncey Chase, 19, of the 7200 block of Sauers Court, reported that during an incident in the 1800 block of Maulsby Court, he was attacked and assaulted by a young male. Police said the youth was arrested and that Chase was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for injuries. Following assault charges, police said the youth was released in the custody of his parents.

THEFT: Northern District -- Uchenna Okoli, of the 2700 block of Oakley Ave., reported that someone entered her property and removed a lawnmower. Police said the property was valued at more than $300.
