The Maryland Humanities Council is seeking applicants to fill possible vacancies on its board. The council, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, awards about $400,000 for public programs each year.
The council is made up of as many as 26 volunteer members, including up to five gubernatorial appointees.
Among other functions, council members read and review applications for funding, help with fundraising efforts and represent the council at regional and national coinferences.
