Companies Given Grants

Four county companies have received grants from the Office of Economic Development to support their participation in international trade fairs and missions in the past year. The grant amounts covered up to half of the eligible costs incurred by the companies.

Design Systems & Services Inc. of Annapolis received a grant for the production and service of naval architecture design software used at the Paris Boat Show Dec. 1-12, 1990.

A grant for the research and development of absorption heat pump technology was given to Energy Concepts Co., also of Annapolis. The grant was used in the production of solar power refrigeration and demonstrated during the marketing mission to Thailand and Micronesia Sept. 20-Oct. 2, 1990.

Milton Bosley & Co. of Glen Burnie used its grant to manufacture custom wooden architectural moldings and art frames, which were displayed at the Galleria '90 in London from Sept. 16-18, 1990.

Odenton's Nevamar Corp. produced high-pressure decorative laminates, which were shown at the Toronto Kitchen and Bath Show fromSept. 6-9, 1990.
