State police are trying to identify the body of a woman who was shotto death Sunday in a park near Baltimore-Washington International Airport.

Sgt. Ken Ward said the woman, who is black and believed to be in her 20s or 30s, was shot several times and left in the parking lot of Queenstown Park off Old Queenstown Road.

A trooper on patrol found the partially clad woman about 9:30 p.m., Ward said. Her burgundy-colored pants were pulled down, and she was wearing a plaid shirt and white high-top tennis shoes, he said.

A gold heart-shaped inlay was on one of her top front teeth, and another top tooth was gold.

Investigators ask anyone with information about the woman to call state police at 761-5130.

The woman's bodywas taken to the state medical examiner's office in Baltimore.


Traffic on Ritchie Highway was snarled yesterday when motorists began slipping and sliding on oil slicks from Harundale across the city line to Harbor Hospital, countypolice said.

Police say an oil truck mayhave leaked, but they arestill investigating.

The north and southbound lanes of Ritchie Highway were closed around 8 a.m. between 11th Avenue in Brooklyn Park and the city line, where the concentration of oil was heaviest. Traffic was rerouted into area side streets.

Police spokesman V. Richard Molloy said six accidents were caused by rain mixed with oil. No one was seriously injured, he said.


An Odenton woman who was beaten by a tire iron was in stable condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center at University Hospital in Baltimore.

County police said Collen Bahr, 24, of the 500 block Retreat Court, was arguing with Wesley D. Turner, 22, of the 2100 block Old Dairy Farm Road, on Saturday when he went to his car andgot a tire iron.

Police said he hit Bahr several times in the face, body and legs.

Turner was charged with assault with intent to maim and assault and battery.


County police confiscated about 75 grams of marijuana from a Woodland Beach home Saturday evening.

Keith Neil Crutchley, 37, of the 100 block Mayo Road in Woodland Beach, was charged with possession withintent to distribute marijuana.

Police also seized $273 during the raid.


A gunman robbed a Crownsville Rite Aid drug store Friday, getting away with money and drugs.

County police said the man walked into the store, in the 2200 block Defense Highway, about 8:20 p.m. carrying a gun wrapped in a black scarf.

After having a clerk fill the bags with drugs and all the money from the register, the robber ran out the front door.

Police described him as a white man, about 5 feet 11 inches tall, in his30s. He was wearing a tan jacket and tan pants.


A 24-year-old Glen Burnie woman was raped Thursday in her home, county police said.

The woman told police a friend of her boyfriend's came to the home, claiming the boyfriend owed him money. When he found that the boyfriend was not home, he raped the woman, police said.

Police said charges are pending against the man.


Three people have been charged with smashing about a dozen car windows on Westbury Drive in Riva Sunday.

Michael Preston Barnhart, 19, of the 4000 block Waterview Drive, and James Samuel Walker, 18, of the 1600 block Cliff Drive, both in Edgewater, and Rene Hartmann Kristensen, 18, of the 2700 block Crestview Drive in Riva, were charged with 12 counts of malicious destruction to property and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Witnesses described the suspect's car as a red Dodge.

Police said they stopped the car on Route 214 and Beard's Point Road and found pieces of shattered glass and a large flashlight inside.
