Hampstead woman dies in fall from window

April 14, 1991

Hampstead police were investigating yesterday the death o a woman who apparently fell out of a second-story window of her home in the Carroll County town Thursday.

Sgt. Russ Horne said the death of Gail Hunton, 48, was being treated as an accident.

The mother of three children was found lying in a grass and dirt yard outside her home by a neighbor at 1:40 p.m. Thursday. The ambulance crew tried to revive her. She was pronounced dead at Carroll County General Hospital.

Sergeant Horne said the medical examiner had not completed his investigation, but it appeared that the woman fell about 12 feet from the window between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The sergeant said Ms. Hunton's 18-year-old son, Duane Hunton, was the only person at home when she was found, but it was not clear if he was home when his mother fell, Sergeant Horne said.
