Mary C. Gebelein Active in woman's club

Services for Mary Caroline Gebelein, who was active in the Woman's Club of Roland Park and other groups, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church, 5407 N. Charles St.

Mrs. Gebelein, who was 70, died Tuesday of cancer at her home on St. Albans Way.

Known to her friends as Miggy, she had chaired the drama committee and was a member of other committees at the Woman's Club of Roland Park, of which her mother had been a member and her grandmother a founder.

A former member of the Three Arts Club of Homeland, she also belonged to the United Methodist Women at Grace Church and was a volunteer for many years at Maryland General Hospital.

Born Mary Caroline VanSant in Baltimore, she graduated from what is now Notre Dame Preparatory School and from Randolph-Macon Women's College in Lynchburg, Va.

Paul J. Gebelein Jr.; two daughters, Carol Cavanagh of East Greenwich, R.I., and Nancy Cornbrooks of Baltimore; a son, Garrett Gebelein of Ithaca, N.Y.; a brother, Nicholas VanSant of Baltimore; and 11 grandchildren.

The family suggested contributions to neuro-oncology programs at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, the Union Memorial Hospice Program or Grace United Methodist Church.
