Convenience Store Robbed In Severn

County police are looking for the man who robbed a Severn convenience store Sunday night.

Police said a man wearing a red flannel shirt and blue jeans walked into the High's Dairy store in the 2600 blockof Annapolis Road at about 9:45 p.m. and demanded money.

The clerk gave him money from the cash register and the man left the store.

Police describe the robber as a white male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with brown curly hair. He was last seen driving a white pickup with a washing machine in the back.


Two men, one armed with a gun, robbed the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Pasadena Sunday night.

County police said an employee of the restaurant, in the 4100 block of Mountain Road, was taking the trash out at about 9:30 p.m. when two men forced her back into the restaurant.

Once inside, police said, one of therobbers jumped over the counter and ordered two employees onto the floor. Police said that a customer who walked into the store also was ordered to the floor.

The robbers forced the customer and employees to crawl into the walk-in freezer and then ordered one of the employees to open the safe, police said.

After the safe was opened, therobber hit the employee on the head with some type of weapon and told him to crawl back into the freezer, police said.

The employees did not see the robbers leave the store.

Police described the firstrobber as a black male about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a thin buildand wearing a blue jacket. The second robber is described as a blackmale about 5 feet 9 inches tall,with a heavy build and wearing a blue baseball cap.


County police have charged a Davidsonville man with assault with intent to murder after a fight Sunday.

John Dennis Barry, 39, of the 3800 block of Green Meadow Lane, also was charged with wearing and carrying a weapon.

Police said Joseph Luce, 31, of the 7600 block of WeatherwornWay in Columbia, was in an argument with someone in the home on Green Meadow Lane. Luce's brother, James Luce, and Barry had an argument,police said, and Barry came out of his house with a .38 caliber revolver.

He put the gun up against Joseph Luce's head, police said. Afight broke out and the gun was taken from Barry.


An 18-year-old Baltimore woman was raped and beaten Sunday morning after a man picked her up in Baltimore.

Police said the woman was hitchhiking in South Baltimore when a man in a pickup truck picked her up.

He drove her to Cedar Hill Cemetery in Brooklyn Park and told her he had to urinate, police said.

Police said he came back to the car and raped her. She tried to escape and a fight broke out. The man broke her nose and fractured her jaw before leaving her and driving off, police said.

She went to a nearby home and called for the police. She was in satisfactory condition yesterday at North Arundel Hospital.
