Baltimore City

SHOOTING: Northwestern District -- Pandora Lane, of the 2400 block of N. Calvert St., reported she was sitting on the passenger side of a car parked in the 4700 block of Park Heights Ave. early yesterday when someone shot her in the chin. Police said the bullet that struck Lane was fired from outside the vehicle and that it was not immediately known if Lane was the intended target or the bullet was meant for someone else. Police said Lane was taken to Sinai Hospital.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Employees of Stormin Norm's Tire & Auto Service Center in the 5300 block of Reisterstown Road reported that someone broke into the building through a side door early yesterday and removed two tires and two telephones, all valued at $600.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Police reported that an employee of the Autolite glass company in the 4000 block of W. Northern Parkway was getting out of his car in the 6600 block of Reisterstown Road around 10:30 a.m. yesterday when he was accosted by a man with a handgun who stole a bag containing more than $400 in cash.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 2600 block of W. Cold Spring Lane reported that someone broke into her home through a window between 3 p.m. and midnight yesterday and removed a 20-inch TV and a microwave oven, valued at nearly $260.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1200 block of Argonne Drive reported that someone broke into her garage and removed two 20-inch bikes, with a total value of nearly $100.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Randall Davis, of the 1200 block of Meridene Drive, reported that someone entered the front yard of his home and removed property valued at nearly $500.

THEFT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police yesterday arrested a man who attempted to leave the K mart store in the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane without paying for property valued at nearly $40. Police said the man was being held at the Eastern District pending formal theft charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Darryl Evans, of the 2400 block of Westwood Ave., told police that while his car was parked in the 1500 block of Exeter Hall Ave., someone broke into it and took property valued at $300.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that someone entered a dwelling in the 5500 block of Carter Ave. and removed a TV valued at $300.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 5500 block of Bowleys Lane reported that someone entered his home while he was away and removed $300 in cash.

THEFT: Northern District -- Police said a man entered the 7-Eleven store in the 400 block of E. 33rd St. Wednesday evening and stole 100 packs of various sizes and shades of pantyhose from display shelves. Police said the property was valued at $200.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police were seeking the person who broke a window to get into a house in the first block of York Court and removed a 13-inch TV and a VCR, all valued at $800.

ARSON: Northeastern District -- Police reported that the tenant of an apartment in the 2800 block of Clifton Park Terrace was admitted to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation after he set fire to his apartment Wednesday night. They said the 31-year-old man was not injured and that the fire was confined to a small area of the dwelling.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Employees of Crosstown Discount Liquors in the 3200 block of Belair Road reported that someone entered the back yard of the building and removed 10 empty stainless steel beer kegs, valued at $100.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Police reported that someone forced the door of a garage in the 2500 block of Aisquith St. and removed tools and equipment used for commercial painting, all valued at nearly $1,900.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Police reported that a motorist filled the tank of his car with $13 worth of gas at the Amoco service station in the 5600 block of Harford Road and drove away without paying.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Mary Kharim, of the 1500 block of Fernley Road, reported that someone entered the front porch of her home yesterday and removed two pieces of wrought iron furniture. Police said the furniture was valued at $1,000.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a 34-year-old man yesterday and were holding him at the Eastern District pending charges that he attempted to leave the K mart in the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane without paying for cigarettes and a pair of shoes, all valued at more than $130. The man was to appear today at a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

CHURCH BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Officials of the House of God and Christ For All in the 2600 block of Aisquith St. reported that someone broke into the building through a rear door and stole a calculator, TV, telephone and an answering machine. Police said the value of the property was not immediately known.
