The state Department of Housing and Community Development today announced that $68 million is available for mortgage financing. It is encouraging eligible Maryland families to take advantage of the special fund.

BAY PLATES PAY
Gov. William Donald Schaefer has announced that $717,869 has been raised from the sale of the new commemorative Chesapeake Bay license plate in three months.
The governor and Motor Vehicle Administration's W. Marshall Rickert presented the first check to the Chesapeake Bay Trust, the beneficiaryof the proceeds from the sale of the bay plate. The Chesapeake Bay license plate can be ordered by mail or purchased at any Motor VehicleAdministration Office through December 31, 1992.
In addition, theChesapeake Bay Trust is offering a limited number of special plates with the letters "BAY" and three numerals for $100 to $500.
CONFERENCE ON DISABLED
The Anne Arundel County Office of Disability Services, in conjunction with the Committee on Employment of Persons with Disabilities, is sponsoring a full-day conference on the Americans with Disabilities Act, which was signed into law July 26, 1990, by President George Bush.
The conference will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 19 at the Guest Quarters Hotel, near BWI Airport. The conference fee is $25, which includes lunch.
