ROBBERY/ARREST: Northern District -- Police yesterday arrested a man in a robbery and also charged him with stealing the car used in the getaway. Police said the robbery victim, James Hicks, of the 3200 block of N. Calvert St., was getting out of his car in the 3300 block of St.Paul St. shortly before 2 a.m. yesterday when a man with a handgun confronted him and forced him back into the car. Police said the gunman then robbed Hicks of his wallet containing nearly $50, credit cards, other items and a wristwatch. Police said the gunman then drove off in a car that had been reported stolen earlier in a nearby county. Later, Northwestern District police stopped the car in the 2900 block of Reisterstown Road and arrested the driver. Charged with armed robbery, assault, auto theft and other charges was Kevin Pickett, 38, of the 8000 block of Lakecrest Drive in Greenbelt. Police said Pickett, who also uses the name Ismael K-Bin, was being held at the district lockup pending a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1300 block of N. Calhoun St. reported that someone broke a rear window at her home and ransacked several rooms. It was not immediately known if anything was stolen.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police reported two men robbed the Penn North Foods company in the 1600 block of W. North Ave. of more than $1,000 early Sunday. Police said two men apparently hid inside the store until closing time, then accosted an employee at gunpoint, forced him into an office and made him hand over the money.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Gary Haskins, of the 1900 block of N. Pulaski St., reported he was in the 1600 block of W. Lanvale St. when two men in their late teens got out of a car, demanded his money and robbed him of nearly $100. The robbers fled in the car.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Officials of the Prayer Tower Church in the 1300 block of W. North Ave. reported that someone broke into the building over the weekend and stole a fan and a set of cymbals, all valued at more than $100.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 2500 block of Eutaw Place reported that someone forced open a door into her apartment and stole a VCR valued at more than $200.

ASSAULT: Western District -- Pauline Samuel, of the 1300 block of Riggs Ave., reported that a male acquaintance with a knife threatened her during a dispute at her home. The man was arrested and was being held at the station.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police today were seeking a male youth who robbed two people in the 2100 block of W. Franklin St. Police said Dominic and Minnie Brown, both of the 3400 block of Reisterstown Road, were accosted by a teen-ager with a handgun. He robbed Dominic Brown of $2 and robbed the woman of $22.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Employees of Blockbuster Video in the 5500 block of Harford Road reported a man ran out with a VCR tape valued at nearly $25.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Martin Fisher, 47, of the 7500 block of Berkshire Road, reported that someone broke a window in his parked van in the 3000 block of Fleetwood Ave. and stole music equipment valued at nearly $2,000.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 4000 block of Elmora Ave. reported that someone broke a basement window in his home and stole jewelry and several containers of liquor, all valued at more than $500.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Davis George, 57, of the 1700 block of E. 28th St., reported someone entered the back yard of his home between Sunday and yesterday and stole an 18-speed bicycle valued at $200.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Robert Meeks, 29, of the first block of Edelweiss Way in Parkton reported that someone broke into his parked car in the 900 block of Armistead Way and stole a radar detector valued at $100.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Lashona Rahman, 21, of the 2000 block of Robb St., reported she was walking across a school playground in the 1300 block of Gorsuch Ave. when a man with a handgun robbed her of her purse containing cash and other property, all valued at $60.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Anita Jackson, of the 5400 block of Cedonia Ave., reported that someone entered the back yard of a home in the 5500 block of Silverbell Road and stole property valued at nearly $800.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 3600 block of the Alameda reported that someone broke into his garage and removed property valued at nearly $200.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Charlotte Rinaldi, of the 14800 block of Manor Road in Baltimore County, reported that someone broke into her parked car on a lot in the 2400 block of Belair Road and stole property valued at more than $150.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that an intruder in a home in the 3300 block of Elmora Ave. ran off empty-handed when the occupant entered a room and surprised him.
