Clifton Blackburn Councilman

Services for Clifton Moore Blackburn Jr., a Port Deposit town councilman and retired welder, will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Patterson Funeral Home, Perryville.

Mr. Blackburn, who was 76, died Wednesday of heart failure at his home in Port Deposit, where he was born and raised.

Mr. Blackburn retired from the Wiley Manufacturing Co. in 1980, after working as a welder for 36 years.

In 1936, he graduated from the Jacob Tome Institute in Port Deposit.

During World War II, he served in the Army.

A member of the town council since 1983, he also was a member of the Port Deposit Historic Commission.

He is survived by a sister, Mary V. Blackburn of Port Deposit; two nieces; and one nephew. His wife, Hilda M. Blackburn, died in 1987.
