Federal Contracts Report is a weekly summary of selected contracts recently awarded by the federal government to companies and other vendors in Maryland.

* Banks Contracting Inc. of Baltimore won a $139,700 contract from the Army to provide a tourmobile shelter at the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.

* Viereck Co. of Columbia won a $105,947 contract from NASA to supply four axis wire cutting electrical discharge machines.

* Wartsila Diesel Inc. of Chestertown won a $9,602,464 contract from the Navy to supply electric wire, power and distribution equipment.

* Westinghouse Electric Corp. of Baltimore won a $16,000,000 contract from the Air Force to provide for Radar Site 5 at Riohacha, Colombia, part of the Caribbean Basin Radar Network.

* Johns Hopkins University of Baltimore won a $5,532,000 contract from the Navy to provide operation of the chemical propulsion information agency.

* Allied-Signal Aerospace Co. in Columbia won a $308,449 contract from the Navy to provide reliability modeling of dependable distributed systems.
